Gifted and Talented Events
Our Gifted and Talented events are especially suitable as a summer school but can equally be run during term time to push the limits with your high achievers. They are not just a set of workshops but an integrated approach to achieving the best possible results from planning and promotion to production and performing the shows.
These events are easily funded by the readily available G&T grants and can easily accommodate up to around 150 pupils or more depending on the desired achievement level. The planning stage starts in advance of the event with for example the pupils designing a poster and discussing details about what kind of show they want to produce bearing in mind any prior skills possessed and so on. The pupils could also, if desired, produce a business plan around selling tickets for their show(s) and decide where the proceeds should go.

The actual event will be based in and around the big top and consists of an introduction to a range of skills quickly moving on to more intensive workshops in individual disciplines to improve skill levels. Together with group and solo practise time this will evolve into a range of acts for the show and a storyline too if required. Guidance is provided and discussion encouraged throughout our visit to enable the pupils to put together the best production possible.
We produce a special resource pack aimed at the more able and can train to as high a level as required. Although the pupils will be responsible for producing their own show including the technical side with sound and light operation, and helping with ring changes and front of house we are naturally always on hand to offer all the help and encouragement necessary to safely get the very best both from each pupil and the whole team too.
